On behalf of our faculty, staff and students, I am pleased to welcome you to The University of Toledo College of Business and Innovation (COBI)! At COBI we strive every day to inspire, transform, and empower our students so they can achieve great things, both here in college and throughout their lives.
Established in 1930, COBI is currently the largest professional college on the campus of The University of Toledo, with approximately 3,000 students across all degree levels.
We are proud of the fact that the College is nationally and internationally ranked and recognized:
• COBI is among only 5% of business programs worldwide accredited by the world's premier business school accrediting organization, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
• Furthermore, COBI’s accounting program holds a separate AACSB accreditation, a distinction which can only be claimed by 2% of business schools worldwide.
• In 2016 Bloomberg listed COBI as one of the top 100 undergraduate business schools in the nation.
• Eduniversal, an international higher education ranking agency, rates COBI Excellent and includes it as the only Northwest Ohio business school in its list of 145 schools in North America. Eduniversal also ranks COBI’s Human Resources Management program #30, General Management #35,Marketing and Professional Sales # 37, and Executive MBA # 47 in North America.
• The Princeton Review has recognized COBI’s graduate programs as among the best since 2008.
COBI’s Savage & Associates Business Complex is a 54,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility which houses classrooms, action learning labs and serves as a hub for our outreach and engagement activities. One of the action learning labs is the John B. and Lillian E. Neff Trading Room which offers students access to financial data from around the globe in a real-world environment and also facilitates COBI's $1 million student managed investment fund, a truly remarkable learning opportunity providing hands-on financial experience. The Alan Barry Accounting Lab is distinctive in the nation for having licenses for both CPA and CMA review materials available free for students; it also has tutors and software to help students improve their accounting and writing skills. The Edward H. Schmidt School of Professional Sales (ESSPS) is one of the top university sales programs in the world, with over 200 students, a world class curriculum, a high-tech sales lab, professional certifications, and multiple corporate, university and international partnerships, and was independently recognized as being in the top 5% of all professional sales programs in a study by DePaul University’s Center for Sales Leadership. All COBI classrooms are multi-mediated and equipped with the latest wireless technology. The College also houses four 24-hour computer labs, including a virtual lab where students can work with laptops outside the confines of a laboratory.
The College's Business Career Programs Office assists in placing students in both internships and permanent career positions.
